Giving up a full-time job at an MNC to become an entrepreneur, turned out to be one of the best decisions Karen ever made. Her company, Agro Genesis, invented the New Micro Suspension Technology, which recycles renewable resources such as waste animal bone, into environmentally-friendly liquid fertilisers for agriculture. Today, Agro Genesis has partnered a home-grown farm to grow organic vegetables using the company’s proprietary crop production system. These vegetables, as well as a range of food products, are sold at G’farm.inc (www.gfarminc.com), which she hopes will become “the brand synonymous with good, green and guaranteed produce”.
The secret to her success is staying focused. “In difficult times when it’s easy to take the path of least resistance, work even harder…” says the 2010 Great Women Of Our Time Awards, “Most Inspiring Woman” award winner, “If we persist, something may result. If we give up, all is lost.”
The determined go-getter adds, “The philosophy of cause and effect holds true, too. Opportunities that we see today are the result of effort and work that we put in years ago. Value is not always measured by immediate material gain – true value is often intangible.”
