Justin Kong, winner of Week 2 Quiz “In Remembrance”

At 9 years old, he could barely see over our front desk without standing on tip toes, but Justin Kong’s voice was loud and clear as he proudly announced “I’m a quiz winner”, waving his birth certificate as proof of identity (as 9 year olds do not have identity cards yet)Justin was week 2’s winner of the quiz at SWHF’s exhibition A Salute to the Pioneering Women of Singapore”.

We were all so very impressed and taken with this young boy.  Not only was he really interested in this Exhibition on “Pioneering Women” but also managed to be a Quiz Winner; and from feedback we received on the quiz for week 2 (“In Remembrance”), was not easy.

Justin very professionally collected his vouchers, signing for it and gamely posing for a photo. As he was about to leave, I casually asked him if he would share it with his sister, who had accompanied him to SCWO to collect the prize. He looked at me and hastily went “Errr..  bye”.

Congratulations to all our winners so far!

(L-R) Alvin Cheong and Joli Cheah, winners of the Week 1 Quiz “Innovators and Creator”, Mastura Khan, winner of Week 2 Quiz “In Remembrance”

Mastura Khan, winner of the Week 2 Quiz – In Remembrance, had these kind words to share, “I really like the exhibition very much, it is straightforward and clear. My 14 year old daughter got to understand how our pioneer women made their contributions and made the difference in the lives of the younger generation and girls without having to go through typical, “boring” exhibitions. I related well to stories of those athletes from the 70s and am proud that I know them from those days and have watched them perform. The exhibition is small but compact, well-organised and presented. The quiz got us reading and checking facts/notes again and won me a book voucher! Well done and thank you!

Due to popular demand, A Salute to the Pioneering Women of Singapore has been extended till 26 January 2016 (10 a.m. to 7 p.m.) at the National Museum of Singapore, The Concourse, 93 Stamford Road, Singapore 178897. If you haven’t already done so, do drop by and participate in our quiz. You could stand a chance to win a $50 book voucher too!
