The Great Women Of Our Time Awards alumni
Team Head, Marketing Director, Cic Banque Privee

Great Women Of Our Time Awards alumnus, Karen Tan, was a double winner when she took part in 2006. The mother-of-two topped the Finance & Commerce category, and was also voted the Most Inspiring Woman that year. “The ‘Most Inspiring Woman’ award offered particular significance because it opened more avenues to give back to the community,” she shares, adding, “As Mother Teresa said, ‘In this life we cannot always do great things. But we can do small things with great love’.
“Getting invited to talks, workshops and seminars meant I could share my experiences and knowledge with students, parents and senior citizens, and inspire them to achieve their dreams and goals,” says Karen, who donated the $5,000 that came with the award to Club Rainbow, where she has volunteered since 2000.
Since leaving her job as director of global futures at UBS in 2007, Karen has scaled new heights in her climb to the top. She spent the next five years as a senior director at ABN AMRO, before taking on her current role at CIC Banque Privee in 2013. As the team head and marketing director, she manages a 12-member team that advises clients from all over Asia on investments and handles their wealth portfolios. Karen bears this responsibility with pride: “I want to help develop new leaders in the finance industry.”
